First impressions in narrow corridors

Luxembourg apartment doors often open directly into a short hall barely one metre wide. Coats, shoes, and delivery boxes accumulate because there is no dedicated mudroom after the underground garage.

A built-in nook uses depth from 350 mm upward along one wall, keeping the passage clear for prams and folded bicycles common in city households.

Coat zones without blocking switches

Hook rails sit above fuse boxes and intercom panels only where code clearance allows. We photograph every fitting on the wall before fixing heights so nothing hides a mandatory control.

In Grund walk-ups without lift access, a bench with shoe storage beneath gives a place to sit while removing boots — reducing scuffs on stair treads shared with neighbours.

Parcel and daily carry shelves
